Greenock Cruises Destination Information

The Stunning Main Port of Greenock

Greenock is a town in Inverclyde, Scotland. Also a former burgh within the historic county of Renfrewshire, located in the west central Lowlands of Scotland. It forms part of a contiguous urban area with Gourock to the west and Port Glasgow to the east.

Greenock’s climate is temperate maritime with mainly cool summers but with relatively mild winters. Greenock anecdotally has the reputation for having higher than average rainfall but this is not statistically true.

The town's maritime history can be traced at the Custom House Museum, while the McLean Museum and Art Gallery dedicates a room to Greenock's most famous son, steam engine pioneer James Watt.
